We are a dedicated group committed to establishing a top-tier event on California’s Central Coast. While showcasing the exceptional talent and history of California’s cowboys and cowgirls, we will be creating an inclusive environment that welcomes both those deeply rooted in the western lifestyle and those newly discovering our western community.
“The Coast Classic” isn't just another roping--- It will serve as a first-class event for competitors, a powerful platform for sponsors, and an unforgettable experience for spectators. More than a competition, it will be a recognition of the Central Coasts long history of outstanding team ropers, our proud western heritage, some great music, our amazing community and a celebration of the western lifestyle we enjoy here on the Central Coast of California-----all while benefiting a great cause.
Together with SabesWings and our amazing supporters, we are driven to raise awareness and support for those battling cancer. 100% of the Coast Classics proceeds will go directly to Sabes Wings.
SabesWings was created with the patient at heart. After seeing firsthand the overwhelming cost of treatment and the limited resources available to families who cannot afford care, we committed to being a voice, a helping hand, and steady support in their darkest moments. That’s why we host events—each gathering fuels hope, raises critical funds, and ensures no patient walks this journey alone.
SabesWings was founded by central coast residents Bret & Kandace Saberhagen. Bret is a native Californian, a retired 16 year MLB veteran, a World Series Champion and 2 time Cy Young Winner. Kandace is a cancer survivor and together with their supporters they have helped countless patients and families across multiple states
